This year, energy costs will “necessarily skyrocket”
Is there a point in history where we can look at a date and say “There, that’s the point, that’s when Americans stopped paying attention to what politicians said, and they just started voting for them because they had a certain letter after their name.”
In 2008, while running for President, Obama said “Under my plan … electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.” He promised us electricity costs were going to go up, and they have, and it will get much worse.
“I’m capping greenhouse gases, coal power plants, you know, natural gas, you name it — whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, they would have to, uh, retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that money on to consumers.”
Obama’s new plan to deal with global warming directs the Environmental Protection Agency to issue carbon dioxide limits on new and existing power plants, which critics argue would cripple the coal industry.
“President Obama today declared a war on coal, and thus declared a war on Kentucky jobs and our economy. Whether it is through the retroactive denial of permits, onerous regulations on coal-fired power plants, or unreasonable environmental requirements, the policies of this Administration are threatening the very way of life that has sustained Kentucky communities for generations,” said Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul.
I guess it was just me, but I thought “Wow, what an idiot, he’s telling us he’s gonna crank up our energy costs and he expects to get elected?”
I wound up being the idiot. He got elected. Not just once, but twice, even after making more insane comments than that, and doing things that guaranteed the destruction of America as we know it.
Energy providers tried to tell us, but they were ignored. The mainstream media also made sure their message didn’t get out. So here we are.
By the end of this year, “85 coal-fired generating units at 36 locations are expected to close in the coming months in part because of Environmental Protection Agency regulations.”
Prices will go up.
I believe we should reduce pollution, I believe we should close the coal plants. I also believe we should allow nuclear energy to exist, But Obama / Democrats won’t allow that. Their goal is to get rid of oil, gas and nuclear power plants. What do they want to replace them with? Solar and wind plants.
Google made a determined effort to explore solar and wind energy. If anybody could make that work it would be them, with all their billions of dollars. They gave up. Why? Because it was too expensive and the resulting energy was too weak.
Under Obama and the Democrats America is going to have a severe energy shortage. We are walking through a tunnel with them, toward a light. Obama and the Democrats believe it’s “the light at the end of the tunnel.” Unfortunately, it’s a train coming straight at us.
